MOHAI and the League of Women Voters of Greater Seattle host a stimulating panel discussion which explores how American democracy has been affected by the female voter. How has female suffrage influenced politics and social issues in Washington state over the last 100 years? What challenges do voting women continue to face today, and how will the rights of voters--male and female--be altered with the incorporation of the digital age into our democratic practices?
Panelists include:
Shanna Stevenson, Historian and curator of the exhibit, Women’s Votes, Women’s Voices
Sherril Huff, Director of King County Records and Elections
Holly Jacobsen, Voter Action’s Co-Founder and Executive Director
Moderator: Allison Feher, President, League of Women Voters of Greater Seattle
Light refreshments provided.

Join the Museum of History and Industry and Seattle Architecture Foundation as we explore Seattle's role in Washington's equal suffrage campaign--a movement as old as the city itself. While walking the streets of Pioneer Square, become acquainted with early Seattleites and their efforts to give women a political voice; efforts that culminated in the passage of female suffrage in Washington State November 1910. This tour is given in conjunction with MOHAI's exhibit Women's Votes, Women's Voices opening in July.
