Prior to working as executive director at MOHAI,
Leonard Garfield worked at the Washington State Office of Archaeology and
Historic Preservation, and was director of the King County Office of Cultural
Resources. Seattle's Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) first opened the
doors of its Montlake neighborhood facility to the public on February 15, 1952.
The Museum's first exhibits displayed artifacts, documents, and photographs
collected by the Seattle Historical Society.
