Each Saturday, January 19 - February 23, 2008, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Everyone has a history interest-what's yours? Research your home, neighborhood, family or personal collection. This 6-session introduction to historical methods and resources will help you learn step by step how to explore your own history!
Series tuition is $75 for MOHAI members, or $85 for General Public. Day-of Registration add $5. Clock hours also available for an additional $18.

The Black Heritage Society of Washington State (BHS) and MOHAI are pleased to announce the 2008 performance of "Speaking Out !Voices of Seattle’s Black Community – Part II", a readers' theater chronicling the African-American experience in Seattle. In conjunction with the special exhibit, Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War, MOHAI takes you back in time to experience life in Washington Territory on the eve of the Civil War - February, 1861. Meet the soldiers who would be forced to pick between the loyalty and duty. Learn about how civilians cooked, dressed, and relaxed. Activities for the whole family all day long! Could you become the next great historical documentarian? Find out in this introductory course on videography that will teach you how to capture the best history through the camera lens. What equipment should I use, and how do I use it? Why do lighting and sound quality matter? How do I edit what I’ve filmed? Previous training or experience in oral history and interviewing is strongly recommended.
